GoPro Suction Cup Mount Review

So today I received the suction cup I ordered last week. The packaging was good. In the box there were a GoPro suction cup with long arm attached, it also comes with a shorter arm, in addition to some extensions for angles. So I opened it and I was excited to go and test it. I took it for a test and it did more that what I was expecting. You feel the quality of the plastic by holding it, it is really heavy. 0.7 pounds might not sound much, but for small plastic item it is. The suction is so good that I was afraid to break it while trying to remove it from the glass. After all it is rated at 150+ mph on cars and 200+ mph for planes. So I mounted it inside the car just below the rear view mirror and started rolling. I went from Dubai to the end of Sharjah city, to the University of Sharjah and American University of Sharjah and then went back. It did pretty good. One down side is that you hear a lot of road noise, the tyres moving on the tarmac. I think this is because I was using the waterproof housing not te skeleton housing. Other than that, it was excellent.

I'll be posting the video soon, feel free to subscribe to my channel to get the latest videos.

I recommend this for everyone who owns a GoPro because it sticks to everything. Cars, motorbikes, boats, planes, I even tried to stick it on a wall, wood, steel and it was fixed to them. It will stick to pretty much every clean, smooth surface. It also comes of easily when you release the vacuum by releasing the lever.

If you like to order it from Amazon feel free to click on the left to buy it directly.

GoPro Underwater update

So finally I uploaded the video. You can check it above. It took a fair amount of time mostly on the music. The original clip was 7 minutes long. This video is approximately 3 minutes. I cut down the parts where there was nothing exciting. I also enhanced the colors of the video and the temperature. I added some transitions. Finally we come to the music. My third video I uploaded to youtube,  which was about Dubai sunset, made me think again about including music in the videos. When I uploaded it, a message from youtube was sent to me informing me that 2 companies have a claim dispute over the music in the video. So my video might come down. The process takes weeks depending on the company and how active it is on YouTube. Finally couple of weeks later, they released my video and now I am free to do whatever I want with it. Although my first video contained music too, but I think it depends on which music you choose. Just to make it clear, you cant use any music you want unless you have the necessary copyrights to do so (ex: Royalty Free music, ...). So I decided to try my luck with the underwater video. Because the video was long, I included more than one piece of music. I uploaded them and I was surprised that no copyright claims were there. That made me feel comfortable about putting music in my videos and worry no more. Maybe the claim from the Dubai Sunset was wrong or by mistake.

So why don't you check both videos and subscribe to my channel. I'll be adding more posts soon :)

January 10, 2013

Nothing major happened as usual. I shot a lot of aviation footage. I finished a video and uploaded it, you can check it out on my youtube channel. I spent most of the day either spotting planes or outside the house.

I was unlucky in some of the footage that I took, a sandstorm hit Dubai and the visibility was low. But thank god at midnight it rained and cleared all the weather from dust and sand.

Because I'm not doing anything major everyday, as I expected I would do, I'm removing the daily blog about what I've been doing that day and replace it by a weekly one. That way I'll have at least something to say not nothing.

January 9, 2012

Today was cloudy in Dubai, so I decided to take a timelapse video of the sky. I also got the idea of opening a new channel and start making videos of aviation, because I live next to the airport and planes landing and taking-off are fully visible( just after they leave or arrive to the airport) the airport is not visible, but even if it was, here it is illegal to photograph or take a video of the outside of the airport.

Today Ill try to process and edit some videos before I get busy, because the vacation is almost over. I have a lot of footage but I'm just lazy to do the process part.

January 8, 2013

As usual nothing that exciting. I though of some new ideas that need a lot of works and days. They also need a space that will be untouched for days. Thats why decided to postpone them a bit and search for a good place. I am also a bit busy now thats why I'm not posting a lot in the blog, and that's why this post was late.
